Fundraising Runs in 2024
1st Fundraising Run with 50 Huskies
#run4planet # RÃĩuge #Estonia
The debut event in March 2024 was uniquely memorable because I was volunteering through Workaway at a non-profit husky kennel/farm at that time, and my running mates were fifty enthusiastic huskies, which I took for a walk or run (depending on their energy levels or age)! Each husky partnered with me for a kilometer, cheered on by friends, family, and other supporters who donated a pre-agreed amount per kilometer.
Together, we raised ⎠500 for Earthjustice and another ⎠250 for the development of the GREEN TRAVEL CO2 Calculator.
2nd run4planet “From Spain to Nigeria”
#run4planet # Barcelona #Spain
While the first run was just me and the huskies, the second one grew into something bigger, with runners from different cities and countries joining in. Together, we shared the common goal of doing something positiveânot only for our own health but also for the projects we were supporting. The live event in Barcelona took place along the Barceloneta Beach promenade, under the scorching sun. Despite the intense heat, we proudly completed 20 kilometers each, looking back with a real sense of accomplishment. One week after the run, Maurice (co-founder Manig Giving Back Foundation) traveled with Mani (founder) to host an inclusive Basketball Camp in Nigeria where the donations already were brought into good use. Thanks to all planet.runners and sponsors!

Neumann Husky
#run4planet #Estonia
Neumann Husky is a non-profit husky kennel nestled in the beautiful landscapes of southeastern Estonia, where I had the incredible opportunity to volunteer for three months during the winter season. For the past seven winters, theyâve been offering sled dog rides near the charming town of RÃĩuge in VÃĩru County. The setting is pure South Estonian magic, with rolling hills, serene forests, and sweeping fields. The kennel is lovingly run by Johanna Laak and her husband, along with their five children, who all care for a lively pack of around 50 huskies. Itâs an experience that combines adventure, nature, and the warmth of a family dedicated to their dogs.
Mani Giving Back Foundation
#run4planet #Spain
The Mani Giving Back Foundation provides a platform for those who are often unseen and hidden, allowing them to showcase their abilities. He boosts the self-esteem of mentally challenged children and adults, giving them the chance to forget they are “different” for seven days. But it’s not just the participants who benefit; Ani’s work demonstrates that every individual, regardless of their abilities, can achieve great things and holds an important place in the community. The independently organized and funded Basketball Summer Camps fill a gap in Nigerian society, creating a space for those who otherwise have none.
