I asked myself: How did all of this happen?
From a young age, I’ve always had a yearning to explore and experience more, driven by a restless mind that felt confined if I stayed in one place for too long. School days were filled with daydreams of distant exotic places inspired by the books I read.
Right after high school, fascinated by Chris McCandless and the movie “Into the Wild,” a close friend and I went on a road trip driving across the U.S., from Miami to San Francisco via Route 66, and down to Slab City (“the last free place in America“) to follow his footsteps. Although we started broke, sleeping in a rented Ford Focus for weeks, the freedom and joy we experienced were unmatched. Our journey was packed with unforgettable moments—from unexpected encounters with wildlife to gambling in Las Vegas, hot springs and dancing around the fire in the desert, kind strangers offering us a place to sleep, and marveling at natural wonders like the Grand Canyon.
Reflecting on that adventure brings a huge smile to my face; it was back then that I caught the travel bug that has yet to let me go. That trip taught me the importance of pursuing my dreams, no matter how daunting and crazy they may sound in the first place.
Since then, my life has been a series of adventures. I’ve visited 33 countries, lived in 10 different cities on 3 continents, and spent a lot of time abroad, particularly in Mexico, over about 5 years.
In 2024, I’ve committed to following my heart and traveling full-time around the world without flying, embracing a life full of wonders.
